A brand-new anime series based on the original manga works by creator Naoko Takeuchi is heading to Nico Nico this July, and will be viewable simultaneously worldwide. The series was first announced in August 2013 and was slated to air in the winter, but was delayed.
The animation staff is Toei Animation, the same group as the 1990s original. The director is Menehisa Sakai, who directed ONE PIECE FILM STRONG WORLD. Yuji Kobayashi, known for his works like Pretty Cure and Ultraman, will handle the composition of the series as a whole. The main theme song will be performed by Momoiro Clover Z. Additional information will be revealed on the official 20th anniversary website as they become available.
