Kanagawa prefecture, Japan: a middle school teacher for seventh grade accidentally played a pornographic DVD in class, resulting in an apology by the principle to all parents and guardians of the affected students.
The city and prefecture’s board of education are in talks of terminating the teacher.
According to the board, the 50 year-old teacher decided to show the classic American musical Sound of Music for English class, and brought his personal DVD player to school. The teacher requested his students to connect the DVD player to the school’s television, and to the surprise of everyone, the pornographic DVD left inside resumed playback. A shocked student immediately stopped the video.
There were 29 students in the class, and eight students saw the footage. The teacher commented, that “the player hadn’t been used in several years. I feel very bad for my students.”
