Due to the wide reach of the internet, the adult video market reached a peak of sorts in 2003; men were wanting to become porno actors, and the sudden influx of actors drastically lowered their salaries. At the same time movies were made at a faster pace, which spread budgets and schedules thinner than ever, increasing demand for professional actors that could deliver a high-level of sexual technique and also work as a part of the film crew. A minimum of one monthly test for sexually transmitted infections is also a requirement, acting as certification to differentiate them as a thoroughbred actor, to create a safe and relaxing experience.
