EVANGELION: 3.33 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO sells nearly 500,000 copies in two weeks

Evangelion, the mega-hit anime, created a cultural phenomenon in Japan in 1995. Released theatrically in 2012, EVANGELION: 3.33 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO is the third part of a four movie remake project, reminding fans why they fell in love with the franchise in the first place with completely reworked animation and voice acting.

In just two weeks, YOU CAN (NOT) REDO managed to sell a combined 500,000 for DVDs and Blu-ray discs, placing it at the top of the home video charts. History repeats itself, as the first and second installments were also at the top of the charts for two consecutive weeks when they debuted.

EVANGELION: FINAL has no release date so far, but expect similar record-breaking numbers, along with an prohibitively expensive boxed set soon after.
