“I really don’t want to go to work today. I know, I’ll report a robbery!” → Reports a fake robbery to the police

A 23 year-old woman from Ishikawa prefecture has come forward that she reported a robbery that never happened.

The incident took place on 6/23. The woman, a dispatch worker, reported that around 2:35 PM on the same day, two men forced themselves into her apartment armed with knives, stealing around 50,000 yen (~$513). Upon describing the incident at the local koban (a small police station for community policing), the officer noticed that her report was unusually ambiguous. Upon investigation, she admitted to her work of fiction.

After the investigation, she confessed that she simply “didn’t want to go to work.”
